ΙΙΙ) ANNOUNCEMENTS:
STAR Awards given to Luann Denton and Dave Perry for the dedication and continued service to the Soulard community.
Officer Miller: Recent SLMPD initiatives worked in lowering person crimes. Slight increase recently in property crimes (stealing/larceny). Since September 22, there have been 22 arrests in the 3rd District. On Sep. 25, basements in residences along 12th were broken into. Possible that is connected to resident there. More information on shooting off Menard from previous month: Feud was among teenagers. Owner is working on evictions. No incidents since. There has been an increase in vehicle break-ins and auto thefts. Stay aware of your surroundings and call 911 on anything suspicious. Alderwoman Young spoke on upcoming ballot issues including local control of Police and bill reducing number of Aldermen
Ις) NEW BUSINESS:
Proposal to change name of group from Soulard Restoration Group to Soulard Residents Group. Proposal initially made by President Cochran. Further discussion will happen at November meeting.
ς) OLD BUSINESS: None
ςΙ) COMMITTEE REPORTS
Beautification: Sat Oct 27: Halloween Party at Soulard Station. Costume Contest, Food/Drink. $20 at the door. $200 was donated by Social House for plantings outside their business to enhance the community. Code & Zoning/Plan Review Team (PRT): 2613 S. 13th wants to build a deck but was denied by Cultural Resources. Committee is working to revise plans in order to get resident approval.
Communications: Renaissance is out. Looking for volunteers to hand paper out. Look to Soulard.org for more information.
Fundraising: Taste of St. Louis went great. Sold $42,000 worth of drinks. Oktoberfest signups are out. Membership: Social at 1860.
Residential Promotion: Still looking for Tour houses.
Safety: Meeting Oct 29 7pm Soulard Station
Soulard Special Business Tax District – October 25 Neighborhood Forum. 6:30p AmeriCorps
