II) SECRETARY MINUTES & TREASURER REPORTS
Treasurer’s Report and Minutes from June approved. No meeting in July
III) ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Guests: Matt, who is opening a bike shop on 7th. Al from Mama Gusto’s and Mary Jo from Soulard Art Market (soulardartmarket.org
District Captain Deeba (madeeba@slmpd.org): Away on business
Officer Miller: Great Neighborhood Night Out event. Burglaries down 15%, Larcenies down 33% Increase in car larcenies in last 15 days. 15 arrests in last month. DWIs up 30-45% Recent bar burglaries used stolen car. Several bars and security cameras. July 16 robery at the corner of 10th and Geyer. Make was beaten by 2 African-American males and a female. July27 caught suspect trying to steal AC from Sts. Peter & Paul. June arrest on car break-in. Resident witnessed and testified against suspect, resulting in guilty verdict. Residents acknowledged.
Frenchtown Dog Park: Hosting Yappy Hour every 3rd Thursday at Sonny’s
IV) NEW BUSINESS:
Solar panels installed on Soulard Station roof by B. Tomber in cooperation with SRG.
V) OLD BUSINESS:
Paul Kjorlie: Working to inform bus companies that their buses can not idle in the neighborhood
VI) COMMITTEE REPORTS
Beautification: Garden plants and Market flowers look beautiful. Garden Tour a success with double the attendance. Art Auction will be held Oct. 4. Thank you to Mary Beth Wallace for covering printing costs and to Molly’s for donating $1,000 to the cause.
Code & Zoning/Plan Review Team (PRT): Met with owner of 1017 Geyer. Owners says he was mislead by city. He still wants to put something commercial in space. A limo company wants to use the older Polar Wave facility at 9th&Geyer for a storage space.
Communications: Accepting Soulard.org submissions.
Fundraising: No report.
Membership: Awesome time at Grizzlies’ game. Jill’s first pitch made it to home plate. Thank you to Jay and Julie for making it happen. Social at Mehrle household. Please remember to donate to the cause.
Residential Promotion: Soulard Art Fair Sep 21-22 Soulard Market Park. Grand Cru cigar shop now open.
Safety: Thanks for coming out to National Night Out.
Oktoberfest – No report
Mardi Gras- $12,500 grant received to plant trees in neighborhood.
Soulard Special Business Tax District – No report
Soulard Station: Opening orders for commemorative bricks. Email Station@soulard.org if you would like one.
