Minutes August 2017 SRG General Meeting
Date: August 2, 2017

The meeting was called to order at 7:08 p.m. by President Wade Weistreich

Founder’s Day Celebration will be August 12, 2017. There will be 65 vendors and a band.
Chris Bolesta
St. Peter and Paul Parish Festival will be held September 24, 2017. They are currently looking for donated items for the silent auction. Please contact parish office with all donations.
Board and General Meeting Minutes
July 2017 General Membership and Board meeting minutes were available for review. David Taylor motioned to approve the minutes and Stephen Shuman seconded. The July 2017 General Membership and Board meeting minutes were approved. The Treasurer’s Report was available for review. Jim Price motioned to approved the minutes and Brenda Switzer seconded. The Treasurer’s report was approved.
New Business
Police Report (Scott Plackemeier)
3 assaults (1 shooting on I55 near Arsenal exit), 5 stolen vehicles (2 mopeds and 1 golf cart), 3 burglaries, 11 larcenies, 0 sexual assaults, 6 arrests
Scott reminded residents that crime is up in the summer and we need to watch out for ourselves, our neighbors and visitors.
National Night Out
Special thanks to Luann and Joe Denten as well as David Taylor and Dave Simmons for organizing block parties.
Committee Reports
Beautification (Richard Eaton)
Molly’s fundraiser raised $7,300.
Art from the garden tour will be on auction Friday, September 29, 2017. The event will be held at the Soulard Station beginning at 6p.m.
Communication
No report was given.
Code and Zoning (Jay Gibbs)
3331 South 7th street: South Broadway Athletic Club annex wants to build shed dormers to make a second floor.
Fundraising (Christopher Schwarz)
Q in the Lou is September 29- October 1. We are looking for volunteers.
Wreath sales will begin in October.
Octoberfest will be October 13-15.
Membership (Julie Price)
We currently have 289 active members.
2016-2017 Star awards will be given out at December’s general meeting.
Founder’s Day will be on Saturday, August 12 in the Soulard Market Park. We will have a membership recruiting table and home owners can sign have signatures for CID notorized.
Residential Promotion (Luann Denten)
Bastille Day Parade was the biggest and best to date. The 2018 Royals are Leah and Eric Sutphen.
Vices and Virtues Ball will be January 27, 2018.
Safety (Jim Ricks/Scott Plackemeier)
The Safety Walk was last week and was both efficient and effective. Replacement bulbs are already being installed.

Legion Report (Bill Wirtel)
July 14 The Legion donated cleaned and ready to wear folded trousers and shirts to St Vincent De Paul Church for their rummage sale.
July 21Third Friday of the Month Happy Hour was a tremendous success. Hat’s off to Eric Marlinghaus, Venessa Kobrin and Commander Chris Schwarz.
August 18 3rd Friday Happy Hour featuring musician Chic Lisitano and Luau themed food.
