WHEN: Thursday, March 13, at 11 a.m.
WHERE: MetroBus Stop at the corner of 13th Street and Gravois, St. Louis, MO 63104
SIGNIFICANCE: Transit Stop Transformation Project partners are set to unveil the newly revitalized space surrounding the MetroBus Stop at 13th Street and Gravois Avenue. A total of $115,000 was invested to convert the forgotten bus stop into a vibrant and engaging, ADA compliant space. It features pedestrian infrastructure, green space, seating, wayfinding, art, lighting and a new bus shelter designed with a nod to the history of Soulard. Those in attendance at the event will hear formal remarks from key representatives of the project and elected officials before the official ribbon cutting takes place. Individuals will then have the opportunity to enjoy light refreshments while exploring the new space. The opening comes after a 14 month-long process that included site selection; a series of design workshops, surveys and community events allowing area residents to weigh in on conceptual designs; and construction.
This is the seventh Transit Stop Transformation Project completed by the partners and the first in the City of St. Louis. Other transformations include the Maplewood MetroBus stop and the Emerson Park, Belleville, North Hanley, 5th & Missouri and Fairview Heights Transit Centers. Learn more at www.cmt-stl.org.
